Carioco RC is a super flashy gelding by Cariño G. Although relatively young, Cariño G impressed us with his modern type, athleticism and scope. Aside from outstanding bloodlines and three beautiful gaits, Cariño G’s most outstanding quality might be his temperament. He is quiet and willing, which made him a pleasure to ride and train. His athleticism is made clear by his near perfect jumping form and considerable scope.

Carioco’s dam, Shona, is a Rancho Corazon favorite. Her sire, Mr. Wizard is one of a small number of remaining direct M-Line Holsteiner stallions. His progeny are athletic, forward thinking and good moving horses who enjoy working and competing. He has produced numerous premium foals and mares in the AHHA approvals. In 2009, his filly, U-Turn, earned a perfect “10” in the free jumping and under saddle jumping, along with “9”s for scope and technique. She finished with premium status and a final mare performance test score of 83%. U-turn has gone on to be a mini prix winner and YJC competitor. Mr. Wizard has also produced several offspring competing in eventing at the higher levels, as well as some in dressage.
